Biografie
Formare: Absolvent al Liceului Decebal din Deva în anul 1965; absolvent al Institutului Politehnic din București [IPB], Facultatea de Metalurgie, în anul 1970; Titlul de Dr. ing. obținut în anul 1978 la IPB, cu teza “Cercetări privind fontele cu grafit vermicular“. Bursier Fulbright, „Ferrous Matrix Composites”, University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, SUA, 1991-1992.
Cariera: Activitate didactică universitară, în cadrul Universității POLITEHNICA din București, Facultatea Metalurgie/Știința si Ingineria Materialelor începând cu anul 1970 până în prezent, parcurgând toate gradele didactice de la cel de asistent până la cel de profesor, obținut în anul 1993; Conducător de doctorat „Ingineria Materialelor“ din anul 1992; Director Departament [1992-2008] si Secretar Științific/Cancelar Senat UPB [2004-2020]. Profesor Emerit [din 2021], Universitatea Națională de Știința si Tehnologie POLITEHNICA București.
