Biografie

S-a născut în anul 1966, în orașul Craiova, județul Dolj. A absolvit Liceul „Nicolae Bălcescu” din Craiova în anul 1984. A urmat cursurile Facultății de Automatică, Calculatoare și Electronică din cadrul Universității din Craiova, specializarea Automatică și Calculatoare, pe care le-a absolvit în anul 1990. În anul 1999 a obținut titlul de doctor în Ingineria Sistemelor Automate, cu o teză coordonată de profesorul Vladimir Răsvan.

După absolvirea facultății, a parcurs toate treptele didactice în cadrul Universității din Craiova, Departamentul de Calculatoare și Tehnologia Informației: Preparator (1990 – 1994), Asistent (1994 – 1996), Lector (1996 – 2001), Conferențiar (2002 – 2006), Profesor (2006 – prezent) și conducător de doctorat (2007 – prezent). În perioada 2001 – 2002, a activat ca cercetător postdoctorat în cadrul Departamentului de Știința Calculatoarelor de la King’s College London, Marea Britanie.

Activitatea didactică

Activitatea didactica s-a desfășurat la Facultatea de Automatică, Calculatoare și Electronică, în principal pentru cursurile de Inteligenţă artificială, Proiectarea algoritmilor, Sisteme concurente si distribuite, dar şi pentru alte cursuri, precum Dezvoltarea aplicaţiilor ȋn reţele de calculatoare şi Comerţ electronic. A elaborat îndrumare de laborator, culegeri de probleme şi manuale.

A efectuat stagii de specializare la Universitatea din Padova (1994, Italia) , University of Paris Sud (1997, Franţa), Dagstuhl Seminar 14181 (2014, Germania). Ȋn perioada 2001-2002 a fost cercetător postdoctoral la King’s College London, Department of Computer Science, UK.

În activitatea de cercetare științifică principalele teme de interes au fost abordate în domeniile: Artificial Intelligence, Multi-agent Systems, Distributed Systems, Software Engineering, Formal Representations.
