Biografie
Între 1970-1973 a fost asistent stagiar la Catedra de Electrotehnică generală, Institutul Politehnic Iaşi, asistent între 1974-1976, șef de lucrări (1976-1990) şi conferenţiar (1990-1992) la Catedra de Electronică, apoi între 2002-2016 profesor de electronică şi telecomunicaţii la Facultatea Electronică, Telecomunicaţii Iaşi şi Tehnologia informaţiei, Departamentul “Telecomunicaţii”.
Între 1992-2000 a ocupat funcția de șef de catedră al Departamentului “Telecomunicaţii”.
În 1991 a fost Fulbright Scholar şi Honorary Associate Professor, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, ECE Department, Colorado Springs, Colorado, SUA unde a predat cursul “Communication Systems I”, Senior Level, iar între anii 1998/1999, 1993/1994 – Profesor asociat, Universitatea Tehnică Chişinău, Republica Moldova. De asemenea, Profesor asociat la Universitatea “Ştefan Cel Mare” Suceava (2005-2015) şi Profesor asociat la Universitatea de Medicină şi Farmacie “Grigore T. Popa” Iaşi, Facultatea Bioinginerie medicală (2000-2006).
În 2007 a fost Visiting Professor la Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Poitiers, Laboratoire d’Automatique et d’Informatique Industrielle, France şi în 2002 Professeur invité la Université de Poitiers, Laboratoire SIC (Signaux, Images, Communications), France.
A fost director al centrului de excelenţă “Grup de cercetare în telecomunicaţii-TELECOM” (1999-2010) şi director executiv al centrului de cercetare în procesarea semnalelor şi comunicaţii PRODATA (20010-2016). De asemenea director al Centrului de educaţie continuă, la distanţă şi consultanţă în telecomunicaţii (1999-2016), coordonator Erasmus/Socrates la nivel de facultate (2004-2016) şi şef comisie selecţie studenţi Erasmus/Socrates (1999-2016).
Interesele sale de cercetare includ comunicaţii digitale, modulaţii QAM, sisteme spread spectrum, OFDM, lanţuri Markov, comunicaţii între calculatoare, coduri de linie, modulaţie si codare, domotică, filtre Nyquist îmbunătăţite şi UWB.
A participat în peste 10 de proiecte de cercetare şi granturi, coordonând un număr de 8.
Integrarea internaţională şi colaborarea ştiinţifică realizată prin contacte şi proiecte de cooperare cu University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, USA – Prof. Rodger E. Ziemer, Technische Universitaet Darmstadt – Prof. Willmut Zschunke, National Technical University of Athens, – Prof. Nikolaos Uzunoglu, Technical Educational Institute, Piraeus, Grecia, – prof. Dimitris Voukalis, Universidade do Minho – Portugalia, – prof. Carlos Couto, Université de Poitiers, France – prof. Majdi Khouder, Institut Technologique de Chatellerault, France – prof. Cristian Chattelier, Katholische Hogeschool Sint Lieven, Gent – prof. Luc de Backer.
A fost profesor invitat și membru în comisii de doctorat și de abilitare în țară, în Belgia și Franţa şi membru IEEE. De asemenea, a fost şi este membru în comitetele de program tehnic la numeroase conferinţe internaţionale. A verificat proiecte în calitate de evaluator CNCSIS şi evaluator ANSTI.
Este autorul a 14 cărți, dintre care 3 monografii (2 cu colaborare internaţională) și a peste 200 de articole, dintre care 52 publicate în jurnale.
