Andrei Nicolaide:  n. 1 septembrie 1933, Bucureşti, a absolvit Institutul Tehnic din Craiova, Facultatea de Electrotehnică, cu diplomă de merit (1956), specialitatea electrotehnică; doctor inginer (Institutul Politehnic din Bucureşti, 1962), doctor docent (Institutul Politehnic din Bucureşti, 1974), profesor titular la Universitatea Transilvania din Braşov (1969-2003), profesor consultant din 2004, Premiul Aurel Vlaicu al Academiei Române în 1980, titlul de profesor universitar evidenţiat acordat de Ministerul Educaţiei şi Învăţământului în 1982, titlul de Fellow la New York Academy of Sciences (1995), Senior Member IEEE (1997), Life Senior Member IEEE (2014). Activitatea ştiinţifică: maşini electrice (în special sincrone) – regimuri tranzitorii (a elaborat şi aplicat noi metode de calcul); magnetohidrodinamica; materiale magnetice; calcul de câmpuri prin metoda transformărilor conforme şi prin metode numerice; analiza unor fenomene în teoria specială şi generală a relativităţii. 

Decedat: 7 iunie 2016
